Kedarkantha Trek Itinerary (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Overview:
Kedarkantha is one of the most popular winter treks in India, offering stunning views of snow-clad peaks, dense pine forests, and breathtaking landscapes. Ideal for beginners and experienced trekkers alike, this trek takes you to an altitude of 12,500 ft (3,810 m).


Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (Base Camp) | 200 km | 7-8 hrs Drive

🚗 Route: Dehradun → Mussoorie → Purola → Sankri
🏡 Stay: Guesthouse/hotel in Sankri
🥘 Meals: Dinner

  • Depart from Dehradun early in the morning.
  • Enjoy scenic views of pine forests, rivers, and small villages.
  • Arrive in Sankri by evening, explore the village, and rest for the trek.

Day 2: Sankri to Juda Ka Talab | 4 km | 4-5 hrs Trek

🏕 Stay: Tents at Juda Ka Talab
🥘 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Begin the trek through pine forests and meadows.
  • Reach Juda Ka Talab, a frozen lake in winter, perfect for camping.

Day 3: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp | 4 km | 3-4 hrs Trek

  • Trek through snow-covered trails with panoramic mountain views.

Day 4: Kedarkantha Summit & Back to Hargaon | 6 km | 7-8 hrs Trek

🏕 Stay: Tents at Hargaon

  • Start the early morning ascent to the Kedarkantha Summit (4 AM).
  • Enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak.
  • Descend to Hargaon campsite through beautiful pine forests.

Day 5: Hargaon to Sankri | 6 km | 3-4 hrs Trek | Drive to Dehradun
